Manager Trey Hillman didn’t seem too happy with Alex Gordon’s broken thumb. Hillman said the bad thing about was it didn’t need to happen…but it did. Gordon slid head first into second base on a steal attempt and came up with the tip of his thumb broken. Gordon could be ready by opening day.

I would liken Carl Edwards’ antics on Sunday to those of a pitcher who throws a beanball to an opposing hitter and hits him in the head instead of the back. Just like the pitcher, Edwards wanted to send a message on Sunday…it just happened to be the wrong one.

Washington U. upset in D-III national tournament
The Illinois Wesleyan men’s basketball team pulled off a stunning 75-70 upset over No. 1 ranked Washington U. in St. Louis on Saturday, March 6, to advance to the final 16 of the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time since 2006.
