Gordon out 3-4 weeks with a broken thumb

Manager Trey Hillman didn’t seem too happy with Alex Gordon’s broken thumb. Hillman said the bad thing about was it didn’t need to happen…but it did. Gordon slid head first into second base on a steal attempt and came up with the tip of his thumb broken. Gordon could be ready by opening day.

How will Edwards be disclipined for wreck at Atlanta?

I would liken Carl Edwards’ antics on Sunday to those of a pitcher who throws a beanball to an opposing hitter and hits him in the head instead of the back. Just like the pitcher, Edwards wanted to send a message on Sunday…it just happened to be the wrong one.

Lindenwood, William Jewell battle for HAAC title tonight

Lindenwood and William Jewell will square off for the 2010 Men’s Basketball HAAC Tournament Championship on Monday evening at 7 p.m. in Liberty, Mo. Besides hardware being on the line, the winner will receive an automatic bid to the national tournament, while the other team will see a successful season end earlier than it hoped.

Washington U. upset in D-III national tournament

The Illinois Wesleyan men’s basketball team pulled off a stunning 75-70 upset over No. 1 ranked Washington U. in St. Louis on Saturday, March 6, to advance to the final 16 of the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time since 2006.
