Legislature passes measure rejecting tax reassessment

Rail improvements means more jobs, faster trains
Thirty one million in rail money means about 200 jobs for Missourians. MoDOT’s Rod Massman says Missouri’s been awarded federal recovery money for rail improvements.
Massman says this will improve Amtrak and Union Pacific traffic through our state. Illinois also secured about a billion dollars to make rail improvements from St. Louis to Chicago.
The goal of the improvements is to get hubs on the fast track to high-speed rail.
Installing a second rail bridge over the Osage River, a crossover in Kirkwood and improving crossing safety at 15 other locations is the first step to high-speed in the future. [Read more...]
Edmonds signs with Brewers
Looks like the Milwaukee Brewers are going to give Jim Edmonds his first shot at the major league level again. They signed the former Cardinal gold glover to a minor league contract on Thursday. It was just a week ago that Edmonds was on stage at Tony LaRussa’s charity event saying he would love to come back and play for the Cardinals. The next day LaRussa said he would be open to discussing the opportunity of giving Edmonds a shot.
Chiefs make coaching moves, freeze some ticket prices
With the Chiefs hiring of Romeo Crennel as defensive coordinator, the Chiefs let go Clancy Pendergast who was the defensive coordinator last season. The Chiefs who demoted receivers coach Dedric Ward during the season also let him go. The Chiefs will also freeze ticket prices for 2010 for upper and lower deck tickets…club level seats will increase.
