Minnesota native T.J. Oshie scored 26 seconds into the third period to break a scoreless tie as the Blues won their season high third in a row, a 1-0 win over the Minnesota Wild. Goalie Chris Mason had a relatively quiet evening as he got great support on in front of him while making 19 saves.

It was Mason’s 19th career shutout and the Blues defense blocked 13 shots in front of Mason. Interim head coach Davis Payne has been emphasizing to the players to have a bigger physical presence in the game which means more than just hitting guys into the boards. With the win, the Blues are now 20-19-7 and have won two in a row on home ice.

Oshie beat Wild goalie Josh Harding on a wrist shot from the top of the circle off the face-off. Oshie had gone 10 games without scoring a goal until last night. The Wild are now 1-5-1 at The Scott when they play the Blues on the back end of back-to-back games. The Blues will host the New York Rangers on Saturday. The Rangers have gone 144:23 without scoring a goal.
