Lower workers comp rates suggested
Workers Compensation insurance costs could ease a little more next year. The National Council on Compensation Insurance recommends rates drop almost two percent in Missouri. But the state insurance department recommends cuts that are four times that–more than eight percent. [Read more...]
St. Louis area sports roundup
As we head into 2010, there are a couple of things to watch for this weekend for St. Louis pro teams. First, the Blues are a miserable 6-13-2 in games at the Scott and they have two more this weekend starting tonight with the Vancouver Canucks. Then on Saturday, the Blues will host division leading Chicago.
Former MU running back Temple charged with assault
Former Missouri Tiger running back Tony Temple was charged with assaulting his former girlfriend and breaking her $4,000 television set. According to court reports, Temple allegedly grabbed her throat and hair, hit her ankle in a door and dug his fingernails into her after getting angry asking where she had been the night before.
State Highway Patrol out in force this New Year’s Eve
New Year’s Eve brings with it a good deal of socializing. And the Missouri State Highway Patrol says far too many people who socialize on New Year’s Eve end up drinking and driving.
“Certainly there are a lot of people going out and celebrating and alcohol is a part of a lot of those celebrations,” said Highway Patrol Lieutenant John Hotz in an interview with the Missourinet. “We do encourage people, if they are going to have alcohol in their plans to celebrate, that they make their decision before they start going out to their parties about how they’re going to get home or where they’re going to stay that night.” [Read more...]
