It doesn’t seem all that long ago when the Rams-49ers games actually meant something, and while I don’t expect to spend my Sunday afternoon watching this sleeper, there are actually some interesting story lines in this weekend’s game as the Rams will wrap up their miserable season this Sunday when they host San Francisco.
Central Missouri remains unbeaten
The No. 1 Central Missouri Mules rolled in their first game back from the holiday break, taking out Pittsburg State 83-60 on Monday night at John Lance Arena. It was the 10th consecutive win for the Mules in the series.
DeRosa headed to S.F.
It is expected that Mark DeRosa will sign a new two year deal with the San Francisco Giants today as the Cardinals missed out in re-signing DeRosa while their eggs sit in the Matt Holliday basket. After thinking about this, I’m not too concerned with DeRo not coming back to St. Louis.
Homeless Missouri students: 14,000-plus
Thousands of students in Missouri’s public schools are homeless. The education department counted 14,350 students living in shelters, doubling up with people in other homes, living in hotels or motels, or having to forage for a place to spend the night in the last school year. “Puppy mill” initiative petition approved for circulation
The Secretary of State’s Office has approved, for circulation, an effort to place the so-called puppy mill initiative on the 2010 ballot. Proponents of the effort now have the opportunity to collect tens of thousands of valid signatures from Missourians if voters are to have an opportunity to approve or reject the initiative.
“It has cleared a hurdle,” said Abe Rakov, Deputy Director of Communications with the Secretary of State’s Office, in an interview with the Missourinet. “Our office has approved the petition for circulation for a statutory change that would be made if this is approved.” [Read more...]
