Pushing for pseudoephedrine prescriptions
The state’s top lawyer is mobilizing law enforcement to push for requiring a prescription to get some kinds of cold medicine. Attorney General Chris Koster thinks the legislature is hearing only one side of the story on the issue–and it comes from the pharmaceutical industry. But he says about 100 of the state’s 114 prosecutors favor of prescriptions being required for pseudoephedrine, He says the sheriffs are at least equally supportive. [Read more...]
Governor Nixon proposes ethics reform legislation
A week before the start of the 2010 session of the General Assembly Governor Jay Nixon has outlined a set ethics reform proposals designed to, in the words of the Governor, “strengthen the credibility of Missouri’s elected officials and the confidence of those they serve.”
The four proposals are contained in a letter Nixon has sent to each member of the Legislature. He also discussed those proposals in a telephone conference call with Missouri reporters. First and foremost is a return to campaign contribution limits. [Read more...]

Rams’ Jackson headed to Pro Bowl
This was a no-brainer. The NFL’s second leading rusher on the worse team in football was honored with a trip to the Pro Bowl. Steven Jackson of the St. Louis Rams will head to Miami, FL. where the Pro Bowl will be played this year.
