The Missouri Tigers gave head coach Mike Anderson quite a 50th birthday present, a 50+ point win as the Tigers took care of Fairleigh-Dickinson 87-36 Saturday night at Mizzou Arena.
Bearcats National Champs!
The fifth time was a charm as the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats defeated Michigan’s Grand Valley State Lakers 30-23 in the NCAA Division II Championship Game, Saturday afternoon, at Braley Stadium in Florence, Alabama. After four straight losses in the championship tilt, the Bearcats got out in front early and held the lead throughout the afternoon. The championship is the Bearcats’ third overall – their first since the second of a pair of back-to-back Division II titles in 1999.
The Bearcats wasted no time getting on the board, scoring on their first possession as LaRon Council ran it in from 14 yards out to cap 6 play, 76 yard scoring drive. Todd Adolf added the extra point and the Bearcats were out on top 7-0. [Read more...]
Royals sign catcher Kendall
The Kansas City Royals signed catcher Jason Kendall to a two-year contract through the 2011 season. The Royals were able to attract the 35 year old to the promise of consistent playing time.
