Governor’s Mansion celebrates Christmas with candlelight tours

An annual Jefferson City Christmas tradition kicks off tonight – Candlelight tours of the Governor’s Mansion. This event gives Missourians a chance to visit the Mansion and to see the decorations.

“Folks are welcome to come out,” said Governor Jay Nixon’s Deputy Press Secretary Sam Murphey in an interview with the Missourinet. “These events are free and open to the public, so families should come and bring their kids. Columbia College’s volleyball season ends with second loss

In a match that would send one team packing, Georgetown seniors Erica Janszen and Allie Bertke powered the Tigers past seventh-seeded Columbia in three sets, 25-19, 27-25, 25-19, to advance to single elimination phase of the NAIA national volleyball tournament in Sioux Falls, Iowa.

Billikens ready for NCAA soccer tournament

The No. 22 Saint Louis Billikens (24-7, 14-1 Atlantic 10) will look to advance deep into the NCAA Tournament its third time in four years, as they get set for the first and second rounds in Ames, Iowa.  SLU opens today at 5 p.m. with a match against Wichita State Friday, at Hilton Coliseum. A Billiken victory would pit SLU against the winner of the match between No. 7 seed Iowa State and George Mason Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Blues win shootout with Sharks

T.J Oshie and Andy McDonald scored in the shootout to give the St. Louis Blues a 3-2 victory over the Sharks on Thursday night. The Blues were down to their final seconds before Carlo Colaiacovo scored to the tie the game in regulation.
