Kim English leads Tigers to big win

After struggling on the opening night of the season on Tuesday, sophomore Kim English found his shot as he poured in a career high 25 points as the Missouri Tigers beat Texas-Pan American 100-44 Sunday afternoon.

Michael Dixon and Marcus Denmon got the start for JT Tiller who is out with a foot contusion and English who was just 1 for 9 shooting against UT-Martin. The Tigers trailed after the first three minutes of the game 8-4, when Mizzou went on a 28-0 run holding the Bronchos scoreless for 11:17. During Missouri’s scoring burst, Pan American missed 12 field goals and two free throws. The Tigers finished the first half on a 46-5 run. When the Bronchos finally got a basket and later a three pointer, it ended a 46-5 run for the Tigers. Their 13 points were the fewest for a half in Mizzou Arena history.

Missouri forced 22 turnovers for the game and held UTPA to 29%. English shot 9 of 12 from the floor, including 5 of 6 from 3-point range.
