Joplin, MO. native Jamie McMurray has signed on with Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing to drive the No. 1 Chevrolet in 2010, leaving behind Roush-Fenway Racing. McMurray’s move comes after Martin Truex Jr. signed with Michael Waltrip Racing on July 7.

McMurray will be teammates with Juan Montoya under the EGR team. McMurray will be reunited with team owner Chip Ganassi for whom he drove for from 2003-05. For the past four seasons, McMurray was with Roush-Fenway teaming up with Columbia, MO. native Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle and Dave Ragan, but he became sort of a free agent when NASCAR said teams must be limited to four cars starting next season.
