With just three games left this season, the Mizzou Tigers will look to move back into the win column with a game this morning against the Kansas State Wildcats.  The Tigers will be in a somewhat unusual role today as they try to play spoiler on the Wildcats season. While the Tigers have lost four of their last five games, the Wildcats, under head coach Bill Snyder, are a perfect 5-0 at home this season, and remain in first place in the Big 12 North standings.

The Missouri Tigers are coming off a disappointing loss last weekend at Faurot Field to the Baylor Bears.  The Tigers would jump out to a 27-16 halftime lead, but another awful second half saw the game slip away.  Mizzou would score only 5 points in the second half, and Baylor would come back for a 40-32 win.

Tiger quarterback Blaine Gabbert, despite the loss, threw for 468 yards and two touchdowns.  He finished just 12 yards short of the school record for passing yards in a game.  Receiver Danairo Alexander also had a monster game as he would make 13 catches for 214 yards.

This is the 95th meeting between the Tigers and the Wildcats, with the Tigers having the edge in the series.  Manhattan has not been a happy place for Mizzou, as they did win their in their last trip in 2007.  But that was their first win their since 1989.

One other note about today’s game, Gary Pinkel is 0-5 against Bill Snyder.

Whoever wins today’s game will technically be bowl eligible, although no one in the Big 12 has been officially eliminated from bowl selection.

This morning’s game is on Versus and will kick off at 11:30.
