The Northwest Missouri State Bearcats have grabbed the 2nd seed in the Super Regional Four Rankings and will get a first round bye in the Division II football playoffs. The Bearcats will host a second round game on Saturday November 21st.

The Bearcats finished the season 10-1 after Saturday’s win over Central Missouri. Northwest has now won 37 straight regular season conference games. The Mules were sixth in that regional but missed the playoffs with their loss.

Meanwhile, after Missouri Western’s loss to Nebraska-Omaha, the Griffons were knocked out of the top six spots missing the playoffs after finding themselves in the top six of the regional rankings for most of the season.

Northwest Missouri State will play the winner of the Midwestern St-Abilene Christian contest that will take place this Saturday. Abilene Christian gave the Bearcats their first loss of the season back in August.
