About 300 leading scientists from around the world have gathered in St. Louis for the 9th International Plant Molecular Biology Congress. The Congress features nine plenary and 324 symposia lectures, 600 abstract poster displays, evening workshops, and other events to chronicle the advances in plant molecular biology. It’s part of an effort to address the need to feed the planet as its population grows in the 21st century.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced that manager Tony LaRussa will return for a 15th year with the team after agreeing to a one year deal. LaRussa said the support of the front office and the fans helped fuel his fire to return to manage this team.

The 3rd ranked Texas Longhorns came out swinging and once again dominated Mizzou early coming up with a 41-7 win on Missouri’s homecoming Saturday night at Faurot Field in front of 71,004 fans.
