Tight budget, growing population

BP talks with George LombardiState agencies are cutting jobs, limiting some services, limiting travel,and taking other steps to deal with state government’s declining fiscal condition. One agency is trying to handle its situation without violating the constitution.

Tree trimming a year-round job for Missouri’s electric utilities

The elements can bring down power lines any time of the year, but some of the major problem times involving trees and power lines occur in the summer during thunderstorms and in the winter during snow and ice storms. Missouri’s electric utilities are at work, year-round, to trim trees to try to cut down on the possibility of electricity outages that might come with the next storm.

H1N1 response doesn’t inspire confidence in bio attack response

The federal government’s response to the H1N1 threat doesn’t inspire confidence in its ability to respond to a biological terrorist attack, at least not to a Missourian who keeps track of such things.
