A long night could be in store for the Mizzou Tigers as they play their 99th Homecoming game against the number three team in the nation, Texas Longhorns.

The Tigers come into the game on a two game losing streak, having lost to Nebraska and to Oklahoma State to start Big 12 conference play.  Last week was especially disappointing, as the Tigers played a great first half, only to see all of that disappear as the Cowboys ran away with the game in the third and fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, The Texas Longhorns are a perfect 6-0 on the season with a record of 3-0 in conference, including their close win last week over Oklahoma.

Tiger quarterback Blaine Gabbert is expected to start once again despite a sprained ankle that hampered his play last week.  It will be interesting to see that if this game does get out of hand, whether or not second string quarterback Jimmy Costello will see the field.

This will be the biggest test of the season for Mizzou on both sides of the ball.  Texas has the number one scoring offense in the country and the sixth best defense.

All 71,004 tickets were sold for tonight’s game.  Kick-off is set for 7:00.
