The Missouri Western football team gave up 21 unanswered fourth quarter points falling to the Missouri Southern Lions,  35-34. Western was able to pile up 518 yards of total offense with Michael Hill leading the way rushing for a career high 143 yards on 28 carries. Western falls to 7-2 overall and 6-2 in the MIAA.

The Griffons would take the lead into the locker room 17-14.  The Griffons would come out and dominate the third quarter outscoring the Lions 17-0 to take a 34-14 lead into the final quarter.

Western would make mistakes in the final quarter with turnovers and the Lions would mount the comeback.  Roland Thompson would hook up with Daniel Thompson from 39 yards out early in the fourth. A muffed snap by Beckwith would
set the Lions up on Westerns 24 yard line and five plays later Thompson would find Landon Zerkel from 13 yards out to cut the Griffon lead to 34-28 with 12:24 to play. The Lions would stop a couple of Griffon drives and after a Beckwith punt Southern would be set upon their own 29 yard line with 2:13 left. The Lions would make big plays down the stretch and with 12 second left in the game Thompson would hook up with Daniel Thompson for the third time from 10 yards out to complete the comeback.
