The St. Louis Blues start a brief two game home stand with a 3-1 win last night over the Minnesota Wild.  The win comes after the Blues were beaten badly on Tuesday by the Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins.

Just 56 seconds into the game, with an assist from David Perron and Tyson Strachan, Jay McClement put the Blues on the board 1-0.

In the second period, David Perron would add an unassited goal to put the Blues up 2-0.  Minnesota would answer later in the period with their first goal of the game to keep the game close at the second intermission.

The third period was something of a let down for the Blues, as they would only manage five shorts on goal, but Brad Boyes would have an empty net goal late in the period to seal the win.

St. Louis goaltender Chris Mason was outstanding and had some remarkable saves.  He would stop 20 of 21 shots.

The win moves the Blues record to 4-3-1 on the season.

The Note are right back at the Scottrade Center tonight for a game against the Dallas Stars.  St. Louis Blues game time is 7:00.
