Treasurer increasing awareness of loan program

State Treasurer Clint ZweifelA low-interest loan program for small business has received a make-over. The State Treasurer worries not enough Missouri small businesses know about it.

Lawmakers approved the Invest in Missouri program this past session, which contained provisions to broadened the Missouri Linked Deposit Program. More money is available. More small businesses qualify.

Now, more need to know about it, says State Treasurer Clint Zweifel.

“We do know that 75% of all job growth in the state during an economic recovery is going to be job growth that is coming from small businesses,” says Zweifel. “So, this is a great program that touches those businesses, helps them save money when they borrow money, helps them re-invest in the people in the state.”

Cards on the brink at Busch

The season could be over this evening for the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium as they are down 2-0 in their best of five National League Division Series with the Los Angeles Dodgers.  Joel Pinero will get the start for the Cardinals against Vicente Padilla for the Dodgers.

Chiefs and Rams go for first win

The road to a win does not get any easier for the Rams and Chiefs tomorrow. The St. Louis Rams will welcome the undefeated Minnesota Vikings to the Edward Jones Dome. The Chiefs will take on the Dallas Cowboys at Arrowhead Stadium.

Edwards needs to make up ground

With six races left in the Nationwide season, Carl Edwards will try and make up some ground on Kyle Busch in this afternoon’s race in California. He comes into the race in second place, trailing Busch by 245 points.
