A famous Missouri restaurant where food is thrown at customers is considered one of top restaurants in the nation. Lambert’s Cafe in Sikeston will be featured on the Travel Channel as one of the 101 best places to eat in the United States. Lambert’s is known as “The Home of the Throwed Rolls.” No broadcast date for the program has been set yet.

Earl and Agnes Lambert started their restaurant in 1942. It’s being run by a third-generation of the family. The Lamberts say they make 520 dozen rolls a day, more than 2.2-milion rolls a year. If all of the five-inch diameter rolls made in one year were put in a line, the line would be more than 177 miles long.

If a five-inch regular roll isn’t enough, there’s the cinnamon roll so big it’s called a “hubcap.” Lambert’s says it makes 2400 of them a day.
