What happens with Brett Favre in Minnesota could have an effect on the Chiefs.  According to NFL.com , the Chiefs have been talking with the Jacksonville Jaguars about quarterback Tyler Thigpen, but the sides have not been able to agree on a return price.

It looks like Thigpen is stuck behind Matt Cassel and Brodie Croyle who experts are saying is playing well this preseason.  When will the Chiefs learn?  We’ve seen what Croyle has done with the number one offense in the past.  His health is always a question and every time I watch Tyler Thigpen, there seems to be a spark in the offense.

What I like about Thigpen is his ability to think on his feet, move around and make plays.  He’s still trying to learn to stay in the pocket in Chan Gailey’s offense and misses on some of his throws, but as a backup to Cassel, I’d take the chance that Thigpen could improve.

If the Chiefs are talking with Jacksonville and those talks have stalled, perhaps it’s because the Jags are waiting to see what happens in Minnesota.  If Favre is the number one guy, would Minnesota have Sage Rosenfels back him up, making Tavraris Jackson available?
