It’s going to be a great weekend in Missouri, I’ve got golf on the brain.  Need to get out this weekend?  The Rivercut Golf Course, 2850 W. Farm Road 190, was named the "Best Muny" in Missouri by "Golf Digest Magazine" in its August 2009 issue.

"Golf Digest" selected Rivercut as the state’s best municipal course by using a combination of the star ratings from its Best Places to Play and Best in State rankings system, to bestow the course four-and-a-half stars, out of five. The only course in the nation to receive five stars was New York’s Bethpage Black, the site of this year’s U.S. Open.

The 7,066-yard, par 72, Rivercut course opened in 1997 and is the crown jewel of the Springfield-Greene County Park Board system, averaging more than 27,000 rounds per year. Besides its current ranking by "Golf Digest Magazine," it also was considered a Top 5 public course in Missouri by "Golfweek Magazine."
