University of Missouri soccer player Alysha Bonnick has been named to the Hermann Trophy Watch list, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America She was one of 45 players selected to the list, including one of five from the Big 12 Conference.

Considered the highest individual honor in intercollegiate soccer, the recipients of the MAC’s Hermann Trophy are selected by Division I head coaches who are current members of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

A list of 15 semifinalists is selected by a coaches committee in November, with three finalists announced in early December. They will invited to the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Mo., for a news conference on Jan. 8, 2010, where the winner will be announced, with a presentation banquet following.

Bonnick enters her junior campaign ranked seventh in the Mizzou record books with 58 points and 22 goals after just two seasons. As a sophomore last season she led the Tigers with 26 points on 11 goals and four assists to propel her to Soccer Buzz All-America fourth team honors and All-Big 12 first team accolades. The 2007 Big 12 Rookie of the Year, Bonnick burst onto the collegiate scene with 32 points on 11 goals and 10 assists, all Missouri freshman records.

Bonnick and her teammates kick off the 2009 campaign on Friday, Aug. 21 at Iowa before hosting Northwestern on Friday, Aug. 28 at Walton Stadium in the home opener.
