The St. Louis Rams have signed 2009 seventh-round draft choice (211 th overall) running back Chris Ogbonnaya, with terms of the contract undisclosed.
Ogbonnaya, 6-0, 220 pounds, rushed 140 times for 597 yards and eight rushing touchdowns and added 75 catches for 792 yards and three receiving touchdowns in his four-year playing career at the University of Texas. Ogbonnaya played in 47 career games with seven starts.
In 2008, Ogbonnaya posted his best season at Texas, rushing 74 times for 373 yards and four touchdowns and posting 46 receptions for 540 yards and three touchdowns. Ogbonnaya’s 46 receptions rank first in a single season in school history among running backs and his 540 receiving yards are second among Texas running backs in a single season.
