Basketball is growing in the state of Missouri.  Thanks to Missouri State’s new JQH Arena and a deep run into the NCAA tournament, the Bears and Tigers fared well in attendance figures just released by the NCAA.

The Bears were ranked 20 th in the country in improved attendance averaging 906 more fans than the previous season.  There was a big jump for the Elite Eight Missouri Tigers who were fourth in the country with an average of 1,745 more fans attending home games last year from the previous season.  Overall, the Tigers ranked 20 th in the nation for average attendance last season, including home, road, and neutral site games.

Texas Tech of the Big 12 saw the biggest jump in attendance by 2,300 fans.  Kentucky drew the most fans and had the best average in 19 games, the Wildcats had 422,547 fans, an average of 22, 239.
