The Club at Old Hawthorne  in Columbia, MO hosted the 71st Missouri Women’s Golf Association’s Amateur Championship during July 13-16th.   Chelsea Schriewer from St. Charles won her second consecutive title and will attempt to end her amateur career by attending LPGA Qualifying school this fall. 

Alisha Matthews of St. Louis  and  a player on the Southern Illinois – Carbondale golf team took home the Cassett Trophy for her runner up finish.  Drury standout Katrina Choate of Fenton captured third place. 

Past Champion Ellen Port of St. Louis put a new putter in her bag and placed fourth while Mindy Bullard Coyle managed a fifth place finish.

Naomi Starr of Columbia, MO won the Peg Ludlow Memorial Award for having the low gross junior score.  The Team Trophy was awarded to Forest Hills Country Club for the low combined scores of Kristen Hamel and Kelsey Meyer both of Chesterfield, MO. 

The companion Mid Missouri Tournament had finished earlier on Thursday with Cindy Hauter of St. Louis winning the trophy with a total score of 256.  Rebecca Highland of Columbia played well and earned second place.  Flight B was won by Jane Townsend of Arnold, MO while flight C’s winner was Mary Ragan of Columbia.
