Rams safety Oshiomogho Atogwe signed a one-year contract.  His 32 combined forced fumbles and interceptions (16 interceptions, 16 forced fumbles) are the most in the NFL since 2006.  In 2007, he recorded a career-high and NFC-leading eight interceptions.

Atogwe has played in 60 career games, starting 48, since entering the NFL in 2005.  Last season, Atogwe started all 16 games at free safety for the third consecutive season and registered a career-high 109 tackles (72 solo).  He led the team with five interceptions, a career-high eight forced fumbles and a career-high three fumble recoveries.  He earned his first career NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors in Week 6 at Washington (10/12/08), after making seven tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, which he returned 75 yard for a touchdown.
