A Missouri native signs his first NBA contract.  A Kansas City basketball league is going under due to a slow economy after two seasons, and a Lee’s Summit woman is in the bowling record books for her accomplishments on Wednesday.

Poplar Bluff’s Tyler Hansbrough who was the 13 th overall pick in the NBA draft signed with Indiana.  He’ll make $1.5 million this year.  In his first two summer games, Hansbrough has scored  40 points and nine rebounds.

The slowed economy has taken it’s toll on the KC Pro-Am basketball league which will not operate this year after getting a great response from players the past two years.  Guys like Leo Lyons and Marcus Denmon from Missouri along with several KU players played last year.  The league’s founder Terry Nooner hopes to come back next year.

Ollie Harbin of Lee’s Summits is now in the bowling record books.  She rolled a 300 game Wednesday.  A big deal in itself, but even bigger when you are 81 years old.  She followed her 300 game with a 235 and 244 for a 779 series.  She bowled another 300 game once in her younger days…four years ago when she was 77.
