Ryan Ludwick hit a three run homer in the first inning and Adam Wainwright continues to baffle Brewer hitters as the Cardinals take game one of their series in Milwaukee, 5-0 the final.  Wainwright pitched 8.1 innings allowing seven hits and two walks while striking out nine.

Wainwright is now 2-1 against Milwaukee this year with his lone lost coming in a 1-0 pitcher’s duel against Jeff Suppan.  His ERA is now 0.77 against the Brewers.  With one out in the first, Colby Rasmus singled and Albert Pujols walked ahead of  Ryan Ludwick’s 12th home run of the year to right center field.

Colby Rasmus drove in the other two runs for the Cardinals with a solo home run in the fifth inning (his 11th) and an RBI double in the sixth.

The Cardinals are now two games up on Milwaukee and three on Chicago in the NL Central.
