Tiger football fans in the St. Louis area have a chance to get Jeremy Maclin and Chase Coffman’s autograph, but at a price.  J-Mac and Coffman will be at The Tiger Town Mizzou store at Mid Rivers Mall to sign autographs on Saturday July 18th, from 2:30 to 4pm.

You must get a ticket from the mall or at the store and they cost $30 for Maclin’s signature, $15 for Coffman’s and $40 for both. Each player will sign one item per ticket.  So 0 NFL touchdowns, 0 NFL receptions, 0 NFL anything for $40?  Are you kidding me?  Who in their right mind would spend that money?

I was reading the press release sent out from Mid Rivers Mall and I saw no mention than any of the proceeds would go for charity.  The press release also made sure it was very clear that the $40 fee would get you just one and only one item signed by both players.

I may be wrong.  Perhaps there are people who would be willing to pay that money, but I just have a hard time justifying that cost for a signature.  I think this is just a simple get rich quick promotion for the players and the mall.  Again, I may have missed it, but I did not see where the money raised from the event would help out an area charity or worthy cause.

Would that make a difference?  Possibly, but still asking $40 for two signatures
seems over the top to me.
