Story by Manuel Haley:  The Cardinals kept the best for last as they score seven runs in the last two innings, and they start their 10 game road trip with a win last night over the Cincinnati Reds, 7-4.

The Redbirds were held scoreless through seven innings by Reds starter Homer Bailey.  In the eighth, down three to nothing, Albert Pujols hit a grand slam to give the Cardinals the lead.  The Reds would tie it up in their half of the eighth.  But in the ninth, the Cards would score three more runs thanks for RBI hits by rookie Jarrett Hoffpauir and Pujols.  Cards starter Joel Pinero went seven innings and gave up only two earned runs, and closer Ryan Franklin picked up his 20th save of the season.  Same two teams this afternoon as Brad Thompson gets the start for St. Louis against Micah Owings for Cincinnati.  Cardinal game time is 12:10.
