Former Mizzou basketball guard Matt Lawrence was honored as a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) All-American. It’s the third consecutive season a Missouri Tiger has been honored as an NSCA All-American. Marcus Watkins was named to the team in 2007 and DeMarre Carroll was a 2008 honoree.

Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning David Deets said, "Matt has utilized the weight room to improve his on-court performance.  He comes to each workout with a great attitude and with a desire to improve as an individual as well as adding to the overall level of team play." 

Lawrence a 6’7 guard averaged 9.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 0.9 steals per game and was the 40 th player in school history to reach the 1,000 points in his career.  Lawrence also finished his career second in three pointers (244) and attempts (614).  Matt was also named Big 12 Co-Sixth Man of the Year in 2009.
