Survey teams from the National Weather Service are back in the field today, Submitted by RANDY BAKER checking for signs of damage and possible tornado touchdowns. Meteorologists say there hasn’t been a lot of damage so far.

The National Weather Service in Springfield says the best chance for severe weather will be tomorrow and this weekend, but there’s a slight chance of storms in parts of southern Missouri later today.

Survey teams are checking the path of storms that went from Joplin to Nevada to Lake of the Ozarks, looking for signs of damage. The weather service got video of a tornado touchdown in northeastern Vernon County, but so far its the only one that’s been confirmed. 

One person suffered minor injuries when a tree limb fell through a house in Laclede County.
