The Missouri State Bears baseball team, a preseason favorite to win the Missouri Valley Conference regular season crown did so with a sweep of Indiana State this weekend.  The Bears are now the top seed heading into Wednesday Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in Wichita, KS.

The Bears held down the conference’s top offense all weekend to finish the regular season with a seven game winning streak.   The Bears finish the regular season at 32-19 and 17-5 in the league play.

What’s more impressive about their winnings streak with sweeps over Creighton and ISU is when they played both teams, their opponents were leading in the standings.

The Bears open Wednesday at 3pm against Illinois State.  Then they play Thursday at 11am against Southern Illinois, before wrapping up pool play at 3pm on Friday against Creighton.  The top team from each pool play for the championship on Saturday at 7pm.
