14 th ranked Missouri softball won their second Big 12 championship with a 5-0 win over 9 th ranked Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.  Freshmen Chelsea Thomas held the Sooners to two hits for her 13 th win of the year.

The Tigers left the bases loaded in the first inning, but scored one.  After leadoff hitter Rhea Taylor singled, OU pitcher Kirsten Allen walked two batters, but got the next two to strike out. Then Allen walked Micaela Minner on four pitches.

Mizzou scored single runs in 4 th and 5 th innings and then added two more in the 6 th , with a home run coming from Gina Schneider.  The Tigers also scored two runs off of errors.  One run would have been plenty for Thomas.

Thomas needed just 78 pitches while giving up two hits and two walks while striking out four.

Missouri will learn of its NCAA Regional fate during the ESPNU selection show airing live at 9 p.m. (CT) tonight. As the automatic qualifier from the Big 12 Conference, Missouri will make its 13th appearance in program history and fourth trip in five years.
