Brian Bannister struck out a season high seven Mariners and he pitched six scoreless innings allowing just five hits and one walk.  He was on today as the Royals have now won six in a row with a 3-1 win over Seattle.

Billy Butler had two of the Royals’ seven hits and he drove in his 12th run of the year.  The Royals scored single runs in the third, fifth, and eighth.

Ron Mahay and Juan Cruz pitched a scoreless inning.  Joakim Soria gave up a run in the 9 th but got his seventh save of the season.  Bannister is 3-0 with a 1.48 ERA.  His short stint at the start of the season in Omaha seems to have paid off.
