Missouri (42-9, 12-6) scored five runs in the third inning of Nebraska’s star Molly Hill to finish the regular season with a 5-0 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers (34-16, 9-9).

With the victory, the Tigers have secured the No. 2 seed for the Big 12 Tournament, while the Huskers will likely earn the No. 5 seed. It’s the Tigers best  Big 12 regular season finish.

Freshman pitcher Chelsea Thomas (Pleasantville, Iowa) threw her 12th complete game of the campaign and earned the win, her 11th of the year. Thomas struck out eight of 27 batters and allowed only three hits on the day. The solo shutout was Thomas’ eighth of the season.

With two outs and the bases designated player Lindsey Ubrun launched one over the right field fence for her first grand slam of the season. The homer was Ubrun’s team-leading 14th of the season and brought her career total to 30, fourth best in the Missouri career home run record book.
