Park University earned its way to the championship game of the MCAC Conference Tournament with a 5-2 win over Bellevue University on Thursday evening at Sigler Field in Bellevue, NE.

The Pirates will now play Friday, May 1 at 1:30 p.m. and will face the winner of Bellevue vs. Peru State game which takes place at 11:00 am.

Freshmen Jennifer Cordell hit her third home run of the season in the bottom of the second inning off of Bellevue ace Kora Behrens and hit a two run bomb in the bottom of the sixth inning earlier on the day against College of Saint Mary.

Park is now one game away from qualifying for the 2009 NAIA National Tournament in Decatur, Ala. May 17-22. If the Pirates win Friday it will mark the first time a Park University softball squad has qualified for the National Tournament.
