President Obama marks his 100th day in office with a visit to Missouri.
Obama will hold a town hall meeting at Fox High School in Arnold, south of St. Louis. It is a familiar venue for Obama. He visited Fox High School during the 2008 presidential campaign and gave a speech at Fox High School. Democrats in Missouri are thrilled that Obama has chosen to mark the historic 100th day by coming to Missouri. They tell the Missourinet that the president chose Arnold, because it reflects the economic problems that are plaguing most of the nation.
Another reason Obama might have chosen Missouri is his close relationship with Sen. McCaskill who is traveling with the president on Air Force One. They and the rest of the presidential entourage will be greeted by Governor Nixon and other Missouri Democrats at Lambert Field in St. Louis. McCaskill and Nixon will be among the guests on stage with the president when he delivers his remarks and takes questions today at the high school in Arnold.
The Missourinet’s Steve Walsh is at the scene and will be filing reports. He talked with Managing Editor Brent Martin about the set up in Arnold, saying security is tight and a crowd is gathering.
