St. Louis came back from a 4-0 deficit, to post a 6-4 win over the New York Mets in the opener of a three-game series at Busch Stadium Tuesday night.

The Cardinals fell behind early but scored four in the 5th inning to tie the game. Then Rick Ankiel and Ryan Ludwick each plated a run in the eighth inning as the Cardinals finished off the come from behind victory. Albert Pujols drove in a pair of runs and scored another for the Cards, who snapped a two-game losing skid. 

Jason Motte picked up his first win of the season and Ryan Franklin tossed a perfect ninth to nail down his third save.

The three-game series continues tonight as Joel Pineiro battles New York’s John Maine.
