Sen. Bond (R-Missouri) hears concerns about the current economic climate from business leaders in Columbia, Mo.

He told the group at the Columbia Chamber of Commerce that taxes on energy would be detrimental to every Missourian.

The U.S. Senate has taken the first step in enacting part of Obama’s budget by passing the budget resolution. Bond’s proposal to protect workers from job loss caused by climate change legislation was adopted … but he says the proposed carbon taxes still pose a threat.

Bond held similar roundtable discussions this week in Springfield, Cape Girardeau, St. Joseph and Troy.

He also talked about the global economy and foreign relations, saying effective trade is of the utmost importance.
