Chris Duncan, Albert Pujols, and Yadier Molina all homered as the Cardinals scored in each of the first five innings as the Cardinals unleash on Pirates starter Ian Snell on their way to a 9-3 win.

Kyle Lohse got the win giving up three runs, two earned in seven innings of work.  After wiggling out of trouble in the 1st inning giving up just one run, the Cardinals took control of the game with Duncan hitting a two out, two run homer in the first.  The Cards added another run in the second, then Albert Pujols launched one over the visitor’s bullpen.  Molina tripled and later homered.

Snell was tagged for eight runs, six earned in four innings of work.  Colby Rasmus made his debut with a 2 for 4 day.  Joe Thurston, a reserve who has battled years in the minors had two hits while starting at third.
