A proposal to allow individual school districts to create four-day school weeks has gone down to defeat in the State Senate. The proposal was an amendment to SB 291 – a much larger education bill.

The amendment was rejected with 13 Senators voting in favor of the idea and 16 voting against it. A similar proposal had been approved in the Missouri House.
