Those who can’t get away during the week to do their taxes have some options this Saturday.

Michael Devine is with the IRS. He says locations will be open in Cape Girardeau, Jefferson City, Joplin, Springfield, St. Joseph, St Louis and Kansas City.

The IRS says the number of people e-filing this year is up about 20 percent, but, there are still those who need some face time.

Devine says locations will be open in Cape Girardeau, Jefferson City, Joplin, Springfield, St. Joseph, St Louis and Kansas City.

Devine says people can get help with all of their tax questions including basic returns, resolving tax issues, answering tax law questions and more.

According the IRS, all Taxpayer Assistance Centers in Missouri will be open Saturday March 21 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., to assist area taxpayers with the following services:

Preparing basic tax returns for those who qualify for those whose income is less than $42,000;

Resolving tax issues;

Answering tax law questions;

Making account adjustments;

Accepting payments;

Establishing payment agreements for those who cannot pay taxes in full;

Working with people having a hard time paying;

Providing tax forms and information about e-file which can save time necessary to receive refunds;

The extra day of service at the IRS walk-in offices will help people who may not be able to seek assistance during the work week.

In addition to the IRS offices, many local volunteer tax preparation sites will be open Saturday to help people who need free tax help.
