Mark Teahen hit his fourth home run of the spring and drove in his 8th RBI and Mitch Maier trying to win a reserve spot on the team also homered for the Royals as they beat the White Sox 10-7.

What’s impressive about Teahen is his home run and single came off of left hander Mark Buehrle.  Teahen has been explosive especially since returning from Team Canada after their two losses in the World Baseball Classic.  Yesterday, Teahen played in right field.  This spring he started out at second base.  He could prove to be a valuable player off the bench for manager Trey Hillman if he doesn’t win the starting job at second.

Gil Meche started strong, but the White Sox got to him in the fourth. He gave up one run in the first three innings but was charged with three of the four runs the Sox scored in the fourth. Meche gave up four runs on four hits, striking out three and walking two.  The good news for Meche is he is progressing without any pain.
