A Douglas County man suspected of killing his wife and infant son with a sword has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.

Authorities responded to a 911 call around 1 o’clock Monday morning at a home in the community of Arno, where they found the bodies of 24-year-old Mary Andrews and her 8-month-old son, Tyler. The suspect, Dan A. Andrews, has refused to speak to police. Dan Andrews’ father has reportedly said his son suffers from symptoms of schizophrenia and has delusions people are chasing him.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in court on March 26th.
