It appears that Chan Gailey will stick around and call the offensive plays next season for Todd Haley and the Chiefs.  While there weren’t many details released on their responsibilities, I have a list of the coaches who are joining the Chiefs.

There was much speculation that Haley would call his own plays next year, but all indications point to Gailey retaining those responsibilities.  Among Haley’s other hires, former Arizona defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast who was just let go by the Cardinals.  Haley is also adding Gary Gibbs, who was the Saints’ defensive coordinator for the last three seasons.  It will be interesting to see which one of men get the D.C. job in Kansas City.

Some of the other coaches who have signed on:

Joel Collier,  was the secondary coach for New England during 2005-07.  Steve Hoffman, spent 16 seasons as the kicking coach for Dallas and recently helped with special teams in Miami and Atlanta.  Bill Muir, spent seven seasons as Tampa Bay’s offensive coordinator and line coach, though Jon Gruden called the plays. Pat Perles, mostly a college coach, but did spend two seasons with the Rams in the early 1990s. Perles was hired as offensive line coach at Ball State which went undefeated up until their last two games of the year.  Finally, Dedric Ward, who was an NFL wide receiver and offensive assistant last year in Arizona.  Ward has ties to Missouri.  He started his coaching career at Missouri State in 2006.
