Monday night’s Missouri Tiger game against Kansas may have been the loudest I’ve heard Mizzou Arena.  The student section was unbelievable, but I do have a challenge for some of the fans who sit in the wine and  cheese seats…STAY FOR THE WHOLE GAME!

There wasn’t an empty seat in the upper deck up and not one person left early.  Even when things weren’t going so well.   However, I was surprised at how empty seats there were in lower level, but they may have been schmoozing in the suites or entertaining clients, I get that.

What really disturbed me though was in the second half, Mizzou made their first run at KU and close the score to 46-43 with 9:47 to play.  Less than two minutes later after a couple of fouls and three point plays, KU was back up by 11 at the media timeout.   That’s when some fans started clearing out for the exits.

This wasn’t some Arkansas-Pine Bluff or Stetson.  This was Kansas…your rival, public enemy number one…and there were some fans bailing out early.  In front of a national television audience.  What message does that send to potential recruits watching this game?

Turns out , Missouri battles back to beat KU on a jump shot with 1.3 second left to hand KU their first Big 12 loss.  I’ve got a challenge for those fans this Saturday for the Nebraska game.  It’s a 12:30 tipoff, you’ll have plenty of time to make it to dinner after the game, you have no excuse to leave early.  Stay the whole game and keep Mizzou Arena rocking.

While this game is sold out, you can still get tickets to the final two home games after Saturday.  Just call 1-800-CATPAWS or log on to www.mutigers.com .
