The University of Missouri has agreed, at the request of ESPN, to move its 2009 home football game against Nebraska to a Thursday night, to allow for a national telecast on the network.  The Tigers and Cornhuskers will now play on Thursday, October 8 th , with kickoff set for 8 p.m. (central).  The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, October 3 rd .

The game will mark the first Thursday game to be played in Columbia since the Tigers hosted Colorado on Oct. 8, 1992 – exactly 17 years to the date of this year’s upcoming game.

The game will feature one of the highlights of next season, when projected starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert starts against the team he originally commited to.  It was Mizzou’s win over Nebraska two years ago that many felt swayed Gabbert’s decision.
