When Mike Martz sat up in the booth and called plays from Kurt Warner to Tory Holt, Isaac Bruce and Marshall Faulk, the fans of St. Louis loved him.  When he was on the sideline…not so much.  Now Martz says he’d love to come back.

Martz told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that if Jim Haslett is retained as the head coach of the Rams, he would love to come back as Haslett’s offensive coordinator.  I think that would be a great move.

Let’s not put the cart in front of the horse.  The Rams still need to conduct several interviews.  They’ll only held three, one of those being Haslett.  There are still several candidates the Rams would like to meet with.

However, if the Rams keep Haslett, Martz would bring some familiarity back for quarterback Marc Bulger who was very comfortable working with Martz and I’ve always liked his ability to manage the offense from the booth.

Martz couldn’t cut it as a head coach, but no Haslett and his strong defensive background along with Martz’ offensive mind makes for an interesting duo.
