NFL sources are confirming that Rams interim head coach Jim Haslett has already had his final job interview.  He met in Los Angeles on Monday with the Rams brass.

The team still wants to conduct several interviews, including former Giants coach Jim Fassel on Thursday as well as Minnesota defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier and Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan among a list of names.

This process could still take time, because Ryan’s Ravens are still in the playoffs.  A lot of people in the media are making a big deal out of this.  I’m not sure I agree.  It’s going to take awhile to interview all of their candidates, why leave Haslett hanging.

If the Rams didn’t call Haslett in and all of these candidates are being trotted in for interviews, then it would look like the Rams never really had interest in Haslett in the first point.  Of if they interviewed Haslett last and he gets the job, then it will be rumored that nobody else panned out and Haslett was the last resort.
